Outdoor
Learning

With clear benefits for students, teachers and learning, every single subject can and should be taught outside of the classroom.

England’s largest outdoor learning project, The Natural Connections Demonstration Project (2016), reveals that children and teachers feel happier and healthier when learning and teaching outdoors, whilst schools report improved engagement and learning behaviour.

Nine out of 10 teachers said that outdoor learning engages pupils with learning, it improves children’s health and social skills, and helps deliver the curriculum.”

Natural England, (2017).
