This report makes the case for cultivating green skills for a just transition to a sustainable economy,
stating that “Beyond technical skills, a just transition also requires new ‘transformative’ leadership skills
across organisations to navigate the transition and manage climate-related risks. These skills include
systems thinking, coalition-building, and the resilience to steer through ambiguity.” p.5 The report also
makes the point that these skills must be widespread across organisations, not confined to senior
positions, they must be cultivated in schools and across society so that all those in day to day decision
making positions are able to make choices for a just green transition.
